About PDFora

PDFora is a free set of PDF tools that runs in your web browser. It was built around one idea: most everyday PDF jobs — merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, signing — don't need your documents to be uploaded to somebody's server. Modern browsers are powerful enough to do the work themselves.

That's how PDFora is different. For the vast majority of our 47 tools, your file is opened and processed on your own device. It never travels over the internet, we never see it, and there is nothing for us to store, scan or delete. Close the tab and it's gone. For the handful of format conversions that genuinely need heavy software (PDF to Word, Excel and PowerPoint), we use a secure conversion pipeline over an encrypted connection, and files are deleted automatically after processing.

PDFora is supported by advertising and an optional Pro plan for heavy conversion use. The browser-based tools are free and will stay free — they run on your hardware, so our costs stay small and we'd rather earn your repeat visits than your credit card number.
