PDFora ("we", "us") operates the website getpdfora.com. This policy explains what happens to your files and your personal information when you use the site. The short version: for most tools, your files never leave your device, and we don't require an account or collect personal information to use the site.

1. Your files

Browser-based tools (merge, split, compress, edit, sign, organize, rotate, watermark, OCR and most others): your file is processed entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript running on your own device. The file is not uploaded to our servers, is not seen by us, and is not stored anywhere once you close the page.

Conversion tools (PDF to Word / Excel / PowerPoint, Word / Excel / PowerPoint / HTML to PDF): these require server-side software. Your file is transferred over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our conversion provider, CloudConvert (cloudconvert.com), converted, returned to your browser, and automatically deleted from the conversion servers shortly after processing. We do not view, copy or retain your files. CloudConvert's own privacy practices are described in their privacy policy.

2. Personal information

PDFora does not require accounts, signups or email addresses to use any tool. If you contact us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you provide, handled by our hosting provider (Netlify Forms), and we use them only to respond to you.

3. Cookies and advertising

We may display advertising (for example through Google AdSense) to keep the free tools free. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show relevant ads; Google's use of advertising cookies is described at Google's Ads Policies, and you can manage ad personalisation in your Google settings. Where required by law, you will be asked for consent before non-essential cookies are set.

4. Hosting and technical logs

The site is hosted on Netlify, which may automatically log basic technical data (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. We do not combine such logs with your files or identity.

5. Children

PDFora is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
